«Molecular identification of can12-02-15-volume-activated anion neurociencias2al VRAC: a key element in the regulation of cell volume and release of amino acids» is the title of the seminar organized by the Institute of Neurosciences, University Joint Center Miguel Hernández (UMH) in Elche and the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC). The researcher Max-Delbrück-Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC) Berlin (Germany) Thomas Jentsch give a lecture next Friday, February 13, at 12:30 pm in the Auditorium Building Ramón y Cajal Campus Sant Joan d’Alacant UMH. The researcher Félix Viana coordinates this activity.
The research field of Thomas Jentsch is based on ion channels. He is also director of the Department of Physiology and Pathology of Ion Transport in the MDC Berlin. She focuses in dissecting the molecular mechanisms involved in ion transport through cell membranes. His group has identified and characterized new families of ion channels and considered its role in various diseases such as deafness, epilepsy and muscle paralysis.
